About KM Elkes

litroversionKM Elkes is an author, journalist and creative writing teacher based in Bristol, UK. Since taking up fiction writing seriously in 2012, he has won or been placed in a number of international writing competitions, and appeared in more than 20 anthologies. He has won the Fish Publishing Flash Fiction prize and been shortlisted for the Bridport Prize four times.

His fiction has been published in literary magazines including Structo, Brittle Star, Bare Fiction, Accenti Magazine (Canada), Litro and online at East Of The Web and forthcoming at Unthology, The Lonely Crowd and Short Fiction Journal. His work has also been used on schools and college curriculum in USA, Canada, Switzerland, UK and China (Hong Kong).

More recently, he has run short and flash fiction workshops (including at the UK’s inaugural Flash Fiction Festival). And he is working on his first short fiction collection and ideas for a novel.

He likes to write his About Me page in third person and use ellipses. He doesn’t quite know why…
